Sergei Zubov probably will not return to the Dallas Stars next season, ESPN reported Tuesday, citing his agent, Jay Grossman.
Zubov has played 12 years with the Stars.
"Sergei wants to be in a winning environment no matter where that might be," Grossman said, ESPN reported.
The Stars weren't publicly saying they had given up on bringing back Zubov, with new general manager Joe Nieuwendyk telling a Dallas radio station, "We have not closed the door on Sergei."
Zubov, 38, played in just 10 games last season because of a chronic hip problem.
Ryan Callahan scored three goals as the New York Rangers beat Philadelphia 5-2 on Saturday for their seventh straight win over the Flyers.
