With the arrival of No. 1 overall draft pick Blake Griffin, the Los Angeles Clippers reportedly agreed Wednesday to trade power forward Zach Randolph to the Memphis Grizzlies for swingman Quentin Richardson.
The trade, reported by the Los Angeles Times, can't be finalized until the NBA salary cap is established and the moratorium on player movement is lifted on July 8.
Randolph averaged 20.8 points and 10.1 rebounds while playing for the New York Knicks and the Clippers last season. A knee injury limited him to 50 games, 39 with Los Angeles.
Richardson, who was traded to the Grizzlies on draft night for center Darko Milicic, averaged 10.2 points and 4.4 rebounds last season. He started his career with the Clippers as a first-round pick in 2000.
PBT: Boston's Rajon Rondo continues to be named in trade talks, which is madness. The Celtics guard creates offense and makes everyone around him better, which was evident in Sunday's win over the Bulls.
Paul Pierce has been around long enough to know what Rajon Rondo's performance can mean for the aging Boston Celtics.
