SAN DIEGO - Adrian Gonzalez suffered a strained right knee in the fourth inning of the San Diego Padres’ game against the Houston Astros on Tuesday night.
Gonzalez hit an RBI triple off Mike Hampton with one out in the fourth and slid hard into third base. After Kevin Kouzmanoff struck out, Gonzalez was visited by manager Bud Black and head trainer Todd Hutcheson, who examined Gonzalez’s right knee.
After a few minutes, Gonzalez came out of the game and was replaced by rookie Kyle Blanks.
