PULLMAN, Wash., Oct. 7 - Washington State linebacker Will Derting was suspended after he was cited for driving under the influence.
InsertArt(2034937)DERTING, THE COUGARS’ leading tackler, made a preliminary appearance Monday in Whitman County District Court in Colfax. The ticket carries with it a possible year in jail and up to a $5,000 fine.
Coach Bill Doba said Derting will remain suspended until the football staff completes its investigation. Derting, 20, has 37 tackles and 3½ sacks through six games for No. 12 Washington State.
