T.O.’s rip of Romo should be warning to Bills

Rest assured, volatile receiver will tear into Edwards at some point, too

Terrell Owens is all smiles with the Bills for now, but that won't last, NBCSports.com contributor Mike Celizic writes.

Buffalo fans are praying this won’t be the case. Some, like the effusive "noel" on Twitter, are willing to suspend disbelief as only fans can, their judgment clouded by celebrity, their hopes rooted in delusional assumptions. In this case, the belief that Owens is a great team player who will be the model of good behavior is like the belief that there are still weapons of mass destruction to be found in Iraq. The proof is that there are still Cowboys fans who blame Romo and Garrett for chasing Owens away.

But nobody chases T.O. away. He is the author of all his problems. And he’s stuck on the same losing script. He comes in all smiles, does some great things, reacts badly to adversity, then turns on the quarterback.

Maybe Owens doesn't like quarterbacks because he is jealous, because he wants the ball in his hands on every play, the hero who controls the game and gets the girls. But he became a wide receiver instead. He has been a great one, too. With the Eagles, he almost won the Super Bowl on a broken leg that wasn’t completely healed.

But being a great player isn’t the same as being a great teammate. Yes, many who have played with Owens love him. But the point is he’s always made it all about him. The reason things go bad is because he never gets the ball enough. The reason for that is that the quarterback stinks.

I’d say good luck, Trent, but that would be a waste of time. You could be luckier than someone who wins the lottery in back-to-back drawings, and the end result is still going to be the same. Sooner rather than later, you’re going to be broke and the person who breaks you is going to be Terrell Owens.

Check out the tweet. It was Romo’s fault just as it had been McNabb’s and Garcia’s fault before him. You’re next, Trent. That’s not a prediction, it’s a guarantee.
