Adding Vick to T.O. in Buffalo not bad idea

Ex-dogfighter could do well with Bills ... and 9 other possible landing spots

Washington Redskins
Though the Raiders might be scared away from Vick because of their experiences with Hall, the Redskins might be interested in Vick ... because of their experiences with Hall.

The Redskins thought enough of Hall after only a handful of games in 2008 to give him a huge contract, and Hall surely is lobbying aggressively for the team to add the man who grew up not all that far away from the place where the Redskins play.

It's no secret the Redskins are interested in bolstering the quarterback position. It's also no secret the Redskins like guys with significant name recognition.

The fact they haven't publicly said "no" regarding Vick could be the best evidence they are at least mulling over the possibility of pursuing him.

Dallas Cowboys
Owner Jerry Jones says he's not interested in Vick. But Jerry Jones, like Brett Favre, reserves the right to change his mind at any time.

As public sentiment continues to nudge toward the notion of giving Vick a second chance, Jones could end up being extremely intrigued by the impact Vick could have, both on the fie ld and at the cash register.

Minnesota Vikings
The Vikes presumably are interested in Brett Favre because he's better than anyone currently on the team's depth chart at quarterback.

Applying that same reasoning, they also should be interested in Vick.

The problem is it would be difficult, if not impossible, to get Vick up to speed to run the team's offense in 2009. But the Vikes could do the Wildcat thing with him this year, then perhaps make him the starter in 2010.

Right after Favre retires again.

New Orleans Saints
New Orleans coach Sean Payton knows he needs to win now. And he surely would love to try out the Wildcat package that his mentor, Bill Parcells, has embraced.

Vick's legs would be the perfect complement to Drew Brees' arm. And at a time when the Saints are looking for another running back, Vick could be the just the answer, via a multipurpose role.

Getting Vick also would be a good way to let him stick it to the Falcons for not bringing him back, since the Saints reside in the same division as Vick's former team.

San Francisco 49ers
Coach Mike Singletary apparently regards himself as a man who can salvage the lost and the nearly-lost causes of the NFL. He reportedly was interested in giving Terrell Owens another chance, and it's hardly a stretch to think Singletary believes he can get through to Vick.

Besides, the 49ers need a good quarterback. They haven't had one since Jeff Garcia left five years ago. And they don't have one now.

Here's another angle that can't be underestimated. New team president and co-owner Jed York idolizes his uncle, former owner Eddie DeBartolo. And Jed York surely realizes Eddie would like to eventually own another NFL team despite the federal criminal probe in which he became entangled last decade regarding riverboat gambling in Louisiana.

Giving Vick a second chance after he faced federal charges and did time in a federal pen could, in a roundabout way, strengthen DeBartolo's bid to get his own second chance to own a franchise.
