C.J. Wilson - S - Los Angeles Angels

C.J. Wilson allowed just one run over eight innings of the Angels' 7-1 win over the Mariners on Wednesday.

Wilson had pitched well in three losses prior to Wednesday's start, so he took matters into his own hands against the Mariners. Wilson struck out 10 batters in his eight innings, and he now owns a 3.39 ERA through 10 starts. He'll take his next turn Monday against the Dodgers.

Hiroki Kuroda - S - New York Yankees

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said he would be "shocked" if Hiroki Kuroda (calf) was unable to make his next start.

Kuroda's calf tightened up on him an inning after he was hit with a comebacker Wednesday, forcing him to leave the game. But he'll be fine. The right-hander is scheduled to face the Mets early next week.

Delmon Young - OF - Philadelphia Phillies

Delmon Young homered for the second straight game in Wednesday's win over the Marlins.

Young also added an infield single and a pair of runs scored. His solo shot to left field in the fourth inning got the scoring started for the Phils, and it's all the scoring Cliff Lee needed. Young is still batting just .233/.304/.450 for the season but could be heating up.

Kevin Slowey - S - Miami Marlins

Kevin Slowey left Wednesday's start against the Phillies after the fifth inning with a left lat strain.

The Marlins are calling him day-to-day, so it's evidently a minor strain. He will be reevaluated on Thursday before it's determined whether he can make his next start. Slowey was pitching well Wednesday before getting hurt, tossing five innings of one-run ball on six hits and no walks while recording six strikeouts.

Francisco Liriano - S - Pittsburgh Pirates

Francisco Liriano fired seven scoreless innings Wednesday in the Pirates' 1-0 victory over the Cubs.

Liriano has been dominant in all three of his starts since returning from the disabled list and is a must-own in every mixed fantasy format at this point. He allowed only two hits to the Cubs on Wednesday, fanning nine batters and walking just one. The left-hander is clearly enjoying his first taste of the National League but has an interleague matchup next week against a tough Tigers offense. It'll be a good test.

Josh Rutledge - 2B - Colorado Rockies

Rockies optioned 2B Josh Rutledge to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Manager Walt Weiss indicated recently that he was going to stick with Rutledge through his slump, but evidently he had a change of heart. The second baseman sports just a .242/.298/.357 batting line for the season and is hitting only .206/.250/.294 over his last 11 games. The Rox appeared poised to go with D.J. LeMahieu at second base for now.

Hiroki Kuroda - S - New York Yankees

Hiroki Kuroda left Wednesday's start against the Orioles in the third inning with a bruised right calf.

Kuroda was hit on the calf by a comebacker in the previous inning, and it evidently tightened up on him. All things considered, it's good news for the Yankees, though it remains to be seen if Kuroda will be ready for his next start. He was charged with five runs on eight hits over two frames before exiting.
