Manu Ginobili - G - San Antonio Spurs

Manu Ginobili underwent a number of tests on Thursday that indicated he has a strained left groin, and he is expected to be out for seven to 10 days.

"I'd be disingenuous if I said I wasn't disappointed that he's been hurt in different ways since he did rest this summer," said coach Gregg Popovich. We'd be disingenuous if we didn't say that we completely agree. Trainers have called the injury "mild," and hopefully he will be ready for the week after next.

Charlie Batch - QB - Pittsburgh Steelers

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Steelers backup QB Charlie Batch needs wrist surgery and will be sidelined six weeks.

There are only six weeks left in the season, so Batch will be a candidate for injured reserve. With Ben Roethlisberger's (concussion) status up in the air this week, Dennis Dixon will have to at least be prepared to make his first NFL start. Dixon gave Batch a run for his money for the No. 2 job this summer, but the Steelers elected to stay with Batch's experience and accuracy edge over Dixon's athleticism and big-play ability.

Nikolai Khabibulin - G - Edmonton Oilers

Nikolai Khabibulin (back) will be a game-time decision on Monday.

Khabibulin was supposed to play between the pipes on Saturday, but he was kept out of the game due to a back injury. "We're taking it day by day right now. We'll look at it again (today) and see how it feels," Khabibulin said. "If it doesn't get any better, we'll probably get an MRI or something and see what it is." We'll keep you posted.

Andris Biedrins - F/C - Golden State Warriors

Andris Biedrins (back, groin) will be re-evaluated on Monday but he is not expected to travel with the Warriors for their games on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Warriors aren't going to risk aggravating Biedrins' injury during a set of back-to-back games in November, so we're not expecting an optimistic update. If he is out, Anthony Randolph should have a nice week.

Kurt Warner - QB - Arizona Cardinals

Kurt Warner said he thinks he's going to be "just fine" for Week 12 after suffering a minor concussion during Sunday's win over the Rams.

He didn't play in the second half Sunday and was replaced by Matt Leinart. Warner said he hasn't suffered a concussion since 2003 and didn't lose consciousness or memory Sunday, which bodes well for his chances of being cleared for Week 12. He'll undergo neurological tests and will need to pass his baseline tests before suiting up against the Titans. Consider him questionable for now.

Rick Nash - W - Columbus Blue Jackets

The NHL has invitd the Columbus Blue Jackets to open the 2010-11 season in Europe.

"We have been approached by the league, but that's all I can say," GM Scott Howson said. The NHL had four teams open their season in Europe in 2009-10, but the NHL reportedly wants to have six teams play in Europe next season. It is believed that the NHL has also extended an invitation to Minnesota, Carolina, Boston, San Jose and Phoenix.

Johnny Damon - OF - New York Yankees

The New York Daily News reports Johnny Damon won't take a pay cut to stay with the Yankees.

"I want to continue to be on a team that can win and to play in front of great fans - and we know that the Yankees fill both of those," Damon said. "I think everyone knows my desire to come back. Still, every time I've been a free agent, I've ended up switching teams. It's the nature of the beast. If people are interested, I'm going to listen." Damon would reportedly be open to a shorter deal with New York, however he would want a higher annual salary.
