Early in the game the Aces put two players on the ball which forced Clark to pass out of each double. As a result, she found Aliyah Boston for eight of her 10 assists. Clark dealt with the physicality of Jackie Young and the length of A’ja Wilson all afternoon, and as a result she Clark didn’t have an efficient afternoon scoring the basketball. Only one of her 10 three-point attempts dropped. Most of her made field goals came from drives downhill to the basket and even one-on-one looks rather than on screening actions.

Three of the WNBA’s top rookies played in Sunday’s matchup between the Wings and Mystics, and all performed well. However, it was Citron who stole the show, recording new highs in points and rebounds. She was also responsible for the game’s final margin, as Citron’s three with 12.2 seconds remaining in overtime capped a 7-0 Mystics run and gave them the 91-88 victory. Citron is rostered in just over 90 percent of ESPN leagues, and that number is a bit low, given her consistency to begin her rookie season. Look for that percentage to increase, especially with the Mystics playing three games next week.

Boston took advantage of the Aces’ hedges on Caitlin Clark early by rolling hard to the basket on the pick-and-roll. 80% of Clarks total assists turned into Boston scores which resulted in 16 of her total 26 points. Boston accounted for almost 62% of the Fever’s total scoring in the first quarter. The Aces had trouble stopping Boston especially when A’ja Wilson was switched onto a guard. Also, Boston continues to prove how well she can facilitate especially down the stretch of games. She found Kelsey Mitchell for a wide open three that tied the game at 69 with a little over five minutes left in the fourth quarter.

One day removed from recording a career-low two rebounds, Reese was back to her usual self on the backboards Sunday afternoon. Her 19 rebounds, 17 of which were of the defensive variety, were a season-high, and the second-year forward also recorded four “stocks.” While Reese shot below 30 percent from the field on Sunday, field goal percentage is not a scoring category in standard ESPN fantasy leagues. Her percentage for the season is close to the 39.1 percent clip she shot as a rookie; that’s an area where Reese will need to improve. However, between the rebounding, defense and improving playmaking, there’s also a lot to like about the Sky forward’s skill set.

After starting the first half shooting 2-for-13, Wilson found her efficiency in the second half. Her inefficiency in the first half was a combination of shots not going down in her usual spots coupled with Wilson not opting to pass the ball when the Fever had a crowd around her. But then in the second half, Wilson scored 75% of her total points off of four Jackie Young assists. Young found Wilson not only in her spots but also then on the move. Half of Wilson’s total field goals came on Young assists. Wilson got more intentional getting to the line in the fourth quarter, taking half of her total free throws in the final frame.

Limited to 13 points in Friday’s win over the Mystics, Howard was more effective as a scorer in Atlanta’s final game of the week. She’s scored at least 20 points in five games this season, and Sunday’s performance was a step in the right direction after Howard endured a three-game slump. In Atlanta’s previous three outings, the 6-foot-2 guard shot a combined 11-of-39 from the field. While Howard came up big in crunch time on Friday, she was more impactful from the start against the Sky, shooting 3-of-5 from the field in the first quarter. Under first-year head coach Karl Smesko, the Dream have been a positive surprise thus far, with the entire rotation playing with offensive freedom.

Already without Jonquel Jones (ankle) and Leonie Fiebich (national team commitment), the Liberty will not have Ionescu available for Sunday’s game. According to Liberty coach Sandy Brondello, the guard “woke up with a crick in her neck,” so she will not play. Ionescu’s absence leaves a significant hole in the starting lineup, with Marine Johannes being the player most likely to fill the void.

With Napheesa Collier (back) sidelined, the Lynx needed their remaining starters to step forward on Saturday. To say McBride answered the call would be an understatement. One week removed from shooting 0-of-7 from three in a win over Los Angeles, she was 5-of-7 in Saturday’s rematch. McBride was especially hot during the fourth quarter, scoring 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field. She only played five minutes and 42 seconds in the period, turning what was a competitive game into a laugher that the Lynx won by 16.

Jones sprained her right ankle during the second quarter of Thursday’s loss to the Mercury, the second time this season she has suffered that particular injury. While she’s avoided a long-term injury, the Liberty announced Saturday that the veteran center will be out for at least 4-6 weeks. Nyara Sabally was Jones’ replacement in the starting lineup for two games earlier in June and stands to take on that responsibility moving forward. Isabelle Harrison may figure more prominently in the rotation as well, but Sabally is the player fantasy managers should target.
