Thomas, Bruins reportedly agree on extension

Vezina candidate would've been one of top free agents available July 1

Vezina Trophy candidate Tim Thomas and the Boston Bruins have reportedly agreed to a contract extension.

According to ESPN, Boston is expected to announce the deal Saturday.

Thomas is 33-11-7 for the Eastern Conference-leading Bruins. Thomas leads the league in both GAA and save percentage.

Thomas was scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Terms of the deal were unavailable.
