Tiger Woods is still unsure of when he'll be able to return to action, despite making progress in practice sessions, according to comments made on his Web site.
Woods said he is hitting drivers and long irons during practice sessions near his home in Orlando.
"As I had hoped, after Jan. 1, I started hitting longer irons and my driver," Woods said on his site, www.tigerwoods.com. "I'm not swinging as hard as I can, but I'm working towards that goal."
Woods has not played since his dramatic victory at the U.S. Open on June 16. He had surgery on the ACL in his left knee a week later, and also had to come back from two stress fractures in the leg.
According to his site, he has played a few holes under the eye of swing coach Hank Haney.
"So far, my knee has held up well, but I don't know when I'll be able to return to competition," he said. "I'd like to thank everyone for their support and concern and I'm looking forward to rejoining the PGA Tour when I think that I'm ready."
