2. Does Duke get out of the second round? Given the way the Blue Devils blasted both Purdue and Xavier, the kind of teams they probably wouldn't face until the Sweet 16, it would appear they are more than equipped to win first-and second-round games. But once these artificial barriers to tournament success are erected, they can be difficult to conquer.

3. What's the next step at St. John's? The administration is building a beautiful university, but Red Storm basketball can't catch a break. After the coaching staff generated momentum with a solid fall recruiting class, key starter Anthony Mason was lost for the year. Coach Norm Roberts could land New York prep legend Lance Stephenson and be back to challenge a depleted Big East in 2009-10. Or not.

4. Does the ACC draft proposal pass? Bothered by spending too much time babysitting players through the two-month NBA draft process, ACC coaches petitioned the NCAA for a rule that would force players to make irrevocable decisions about entering the draft a few weeks after the Final Four. This legislation appears to have little chance with the NCAA presidents who run the show. But since they're the folks keeping a football playoff from happening, you never know how they'll decide.

5. Tyler, Blake or Steph? We could give all three of this year's sensational candidates an award — Robertson, Wooden, Naismith — and there'd still be enough left for each to get doubles. There is no basketball Heisman. That makes the whole deal less overwrought — honestly, there are times when you want to stiff-arm the next TV guy who starts a Heisman conversation — but also less focused. This year, however, with Tyler Hansbrough, Blake Griffin and Stephen Curry all putting together intriguing cases, it ought to be fun.
