AP fileThe Los Angeles Dodgers apparently don't plan to wait for free agent Manny Ramirez to make up his mind this offseason.
The Dodgers have contacted the agent for Adam Dunn, ESPN reported Monday, citing the unnamed exec of another team interested in Dunn.
The Dodgers have made a two-year, $45 million offer to Ramirez. Many reports said Ramirez was waiting until Mark Teixeira signed before making a decision. But Teixeira, another Scott Boras client, signed a $180 million deal with the New York Yankees last Tuesday.
And still no move from Manny.
So the Dodgers appear to be joining the fray for Dunn. Other teams chasing the slugger include the Cubs, Nationals, Mariners and Orioles, ESPN reported.
Dunn, hit 40 homers with 100 RBIs and 164 strikeouts last season for the Reds and Diamondbacks.
