YPSILANTI, Mich. - Brandon Bowdry had 26 points and 14 rebounds to help Eastern Michigan rout Marygrove 119-48 on Friday afternoon.

The 71-point margin of victory broke a 40-year-old school record, which was set in a 100-41 victory over Western Ontario in 1968. The 119 points were the most scored by the Eagles since 1991.

Freshman Branden Harrison had 21 points for Eastern, and Solomon Farris added 18.

No one reached double figures for the Mustangs, who shot just 23 percent and were outrebounded 73-37. Walt Williams led Marygrove with nine points.

The Division I Eagles (1-0) counted the game as their regular-season opener, while NAIA Marygrove listed it as an exhibition game.

Tipoff was at noon to allow local elementary schools to bring their students as a field trip.
