6. Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to Ken Small
He's the guy who stands behind home plate and screams at the umpire at Little League games.

He's the guy who stalks the sidelines at Pop Warner games and screams at the coach to get the ball in his son's hands.

He's the guy who, when his son finds trouble -- for one reason or another -- it's never his fault.

He is Ken Small, father of Ohio State wideout Ray Small, who has been suspended by Buckeyes coach Jim Tressel for this week's game against Northwestern and possibly more for a "repeated" violations of team rules.

"They're intentionally trying to blow his career," Ken Small says.

My response: What career?

7. The wise sage speaks
Admit it, you love JoePa. How could you not?

Joe is asked about Penn State getting hosed by the BCS, and Joe doesn't know, doesn't care, doesn't waste time talking about it. All he cares about is this week's game at Iowa.

He's the anti-Pete Carroll.

"I haven't got the slightest idea what the BCS ... is it the BCS or the BSC? I don't know," he says. "They are going to do what they are going to do and it won't make any difference what I say or comment on."

We should all be so smart.

8. Chasing Bronze -- and Waterford Crystal
Look, I'm not sayin' it, but I'm sayin' it: Anyone who thinks Tim Tebow is out of the Heisman Trophy race has a few screws loose.

Colt McCoy has come back to the pack the last two weeks, and Graham Harrell will battle the ridiculous "system quarterback" argument once Tech loses.

Meanwhile, Timmy Terrific will play four of his final five games on national television -- in big games that can possibly clinch the SEC East title (Saturday at Vanderbilt), beat a bitter rival and ACC leader Florida State, beat his university's former coach, and beat unbeaten No.1 Alabama in the SEC Championship game.

His numbers aren't close to those he put up last fall, but Tebow is having a much better season.

9. Crane vs. Clausen
Let's use some simple mathematics. Cam Sexton and Cullen Harper combined to throw for 490 yards and four touchdowns on the Boston College secondary the past two weeks. Neither one of those guys is as talented as Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen.

Neither one of those two teams have wide receivers like Golden Tate, Michael Floyd and Duval Kamara. More important, BC quarterback Chris Crane is 98th in I-A for passer rating.

When all else fails, it's all about the quarterback.

10. Big East Block
Five of the eight teams in the Big East have six wins. Really, check it out.

Pitt is one off the five, and if it played as well at home as it has on the road, it could be seven or eight wins.

As crazy as it sounds, Pitt's two remaining league road games (Cincinnati, Connecticut) are more manageable than its two home games (Louisville this week, and West Virginia).
