Let's take a closer look at all three programs:

Oklahoma State
(5-0 … first time since 2004)

Next up: Saturday, at Missouri.
Motto: The Sooner State's best team … in 2009.
You should know: Robinson, a 6-foot-3 Colorado prep product, may be the best athlete among the three quarterbacks. He played some receiver as a freshman. Sophomore wideout/punt returner Dez Bryant is a budding star. Bryant is second in the nation in scoring, with 11 touchdowns. The Lufkin, Texas, native is the only non-running back among the top 8 nationally in that category.
Impressive stat: The Cowboys lead the nation in punt returns, averaging 27.25 yards per return. How much easier is it to score when your punt return unit chews up one-quarter of the field every time it touches the ball?
Bizarre stat: Gundy’s infamous rant has been viewed more than one million times on YouTube, though we are partial to this parody in which a faux Gundy admonishes the media for downgrading a hurricane to a tropical storm.
Yeah, but what about the defense? The Cowboys are merely OK, allowing 23 points per game. They are near the bottom nationally in sacks (114th) and tackles for loss (116th).
Worth noting: Alumnus T. Boone Pickens has contributed approximately $400 million. You do that and, yes, they will name a football stadium after you.
First loss: This weekend, at Missouri.
Intrastate showdown: Nov. 29, hosting Oklahoma.
Final record: 8-4.

Tulsa (5-0 … first time since 1945)

Next up: Saturday, at SMU.
Motto: We've got your BCS buster right here, pal.
You should know: Johnson, a Portland, Ore., native who is finally starting in his fifth season and making the most of it.
Impressive stat: The Golden Hurricane lead the nation in 3rd-down conversion percentage, at 65.6 percent.
Bizarre stat: Despite Tulsa leading the nation in total offense and Johnson in passing efficiency, no wide receiver averages more than 4.2 catches per game.
Yeah, but what about the defense? Not good, but will they need to be?
Worth noting: Last January, the Golden Hurricane beat Bowling Green in the GMAC Bowl, 63-7. That is the largest margin of victory in any bowl game. Also, Mitch Mustain's high school coach, Gus Malzahn, who initially followed the now-USC backup quarterback to Arkansas and also left after one season, is the offensive coordinator.
First loss: Nov. 15, at Houston.
Intrastate showdown: None.
Final record: 11-2.

Oklahoma (5-0 … first time since 2004)

Next up: Saturday, vs. Texas, in Dallas.
Motto: And they will know us by the trail of the dead.
You should know: Redshirt sophomore quarterback Sam Bradford, who set an NCAA record for touchdown passes by a freshman last season with 36. Senior wideouts Juaquin Iglesias and Manuel Johnson combine for just under 10 catches per game. The offensive line, led by left guard Duke Robinson, are all seniors and returning starters.
Impressive stat: You mean, besides being ranked No. 1 for an AP poll-record 96th week? How about the fact that the Sooners are the only offense yet to lose a fumble this season? Or that they are No. 1 in red zone offense, with 23 touchdowns in 24 red zone tries? Fitting, that, since the word "Oklahoma" is derived from two Choctaw words meaning "red people."
Bizarre stat: The team that takes its name from a score of pre-emptive land-grabbers has outscored opponents 103-3 in the first quarter this season. The Sooners have yet to trail anyone.
Yeah, but what about the defense? Scary good. The Sooners lead the nation in pass efficiency defense and are 3rd nationally in both sacks (3.4 per game) and tackles for loss (8.6 per game). The linebacking trio of Keenan Clayton, Travis Lewis and Ryan Reynolds have played as well as the units from USC or Ohio State thus far.
Worth noting: Bradford is one-eighth Cherokee and his dad was an offensive lineman on the Sooners teams that featured Heisman Trophy winner Billy Sims.
First loss: If not this Saturday in Dallas, we don't know when.
Intrastate showdown: Nov. 29, at Oklahoma State.
Final record: 12-1.
