Phoenix Suns forward Amare Stoudemire was poked in the eye during practice and suffered a partially torn iris, according to reports.

Stoudemire missed practice Thursday with swelling and blurred vision after being accidentally poked in the eye by center Boris Diaw. An eye exam showed no damage to the retina or the cornea, reports indicate.

GM Steve Kerr told the Arizona Republic that the damage to Stoudemire's iris was not serious.
Stoudemire will miss a scrimmage on Friday and is expected to wear goggles when he returns to the court, possibly Sunday, according to reports. He may wear the goggles for the remainder of his career.
