ASSOCIATED PRESSGiants receiver Plaxico Burress has apparently been a habitual offender of team rules.
Enough so that the team has fined him 40 to 50 times in his four seasons with the team, according to a Fox Sports report.
"He's been fined for missing treatment, meetings, showing up late ... there's probably been 10 times this year alone," one source told the Web site.
Burress is currently serving a two-week suspension (one game because the Giants had an open date in Week 4) for missing a team meeting.
According to several team sources, the fines haven't bothered Burress much, but he's upset about being forced to miss a game.
"That really bothered him," said another source who requested anonymity. "He doesn't care about the fines but if you don't let him play ... that's all he cares about. He just wants to play football."
The New York Daily News reported Monday that Burress may have violated the NFL's personal conduct policy when he was involved in two domestic disputes that involved the police in the summer. He also may have violated the policy by not reporting either incident to the league. The league is looking into the matter, the report said.
