Hurricane Ike postpones Arkansas-Texas
Storm on course to hit Texas this weekend; game will be played Sept. 27

Ike forces cancellations, reschedulings |

BATON ROUGE, La. - Hurricane Ike has pushed back the Arkansas-Texas football game to Sept. 27.
The hurricane is on a course for landfall in Texas this weekend.
Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds said the university believes the best thing to do is postpone the game, which had been set for Saturday in Austin.
In other hurricane news, LSU has scheduled its return to Tiger Stadium on Saturday night to host North Texas, one week after postponing its game with Troy because of Hurricane Gustav.
LSU officials say they are confident that Tiger Stadium will ready by the weekend, but wanted to make sure the area would not be threatened by Hurricane Ike.
Hurricane Gustav had caused damage to the campus in Baton Rouge, forcing the postponement against Troy.
The Washington State-Baylor game has been moved up to Friday night.
The game was originally scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Kickoff is now scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT Friday.
The start of the Stanford-TCU game Saturday will be moved to noon from 6 p.m.
McNeese State canceled Saturday’s home football game against Cal Poly.
