Since 2002, USC has finished in the top 4 in every final AP poll. No other school has finished in the top 12 every year. In fact, USC, Ohio St., Oklahoma and Texas are the only schools to end each of the last seven seasons in the Top 25.

USC starting quarterback starter Mark Sanchez reportedly is expected to miss at least two weeks after dislocating his left kneecap on Friday.

According to the Los Angeles Times and the Daily News of Los Angeles, Sanchez's status for USC's season opener at Virginia on Aug. 30 is uncertain. The Trojans are ranked No. 2 in the coaches' preseason Top 25 poll.

Sanchez fell to the ground and dislocated his left kneecap after making a throw during practice and landing awkwardly.

Team doctors say there is no ligament, cartilage or bone damage.

"It was just scary. It could be a lot worse,'' Sanchez told the Daily News.

"We'll just wait and see," Carroll told the Los Angeles Times. "We lucked out is what happened."

With John David Booty off to the NFL, Sanchez emerged from spring practice as head coach Pete Carroll's starting quarterback. He appeared in seven games in 2007, completing 69 of 114 passes for 695 yards and seven touchdowns.

USC’s other scholarship quarterbacks are sophomore Mitch Mustain and redshirt freshman Aaron Corp. Mustain redshirted last season after transferring from Arkansas, where he won eight games as a true freshman.
