EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - The New Jersey Nets acquired guard Keyon Dooling from the Orlando Magic in a sign and trade deal on Monday.

In exchange for Dooling, the Nets gave the Magic cash and the trade exception they got in the deal that sent Jason Kidd to the Dallas Mavericks.

“Keyon is a versatile NBA veteran, and we are pleased to add him to our roster,” Nets president Rod Thorn said. “His ability to play both the point and shooting guard positions will add flexibility and depth to our backcourt rotation.”
