Roger Federer vs. Andy Roddick (2009)
Andy Roddick played his best match ever against Roger Federer, pushing the Swiss star to the absolute limit, but still came up short in a thrilling Wimbledon men's singles final. No. 2 Federer earned a marathon 5-7, 7-6 (6), 7-6 (5), 3-6, 16-14 victory in four hours and 16 minutes over No. 6 Roddick. The victory gave Federer his sixth title at the All England Club and helped him surpass Pete Sampras for the most Grand Slam championships of all time with 15. There were just three breaks of serve the entire match, with Federer's lone break coming in the match's final game. He finished with 107 winners, including a career-high 50 aces, and 38 unforced errors. Roddick's performance was also exceptional, as he smacked 74 winners (including 27 aces) to just 33 unforced errors.
