Memorable moments at Wimbledon
Boris Becker vs. Ivan Lendl (1986)
Ivan Lendl was the top-ranked player in the world in 1986, but he was never the top player on grass. He persevered through a four-set fourth-round battle that featured three sets decided by tiebreaks, a five-set quarterfinal match that went to 9-7 in the fifth, and another five-setter in the semifinals just to make it to the championship match, but he fell one win short of his goal. Defending champion Boris Becker, proving his title the previous year was no fluke, won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, 7-5.
