Bjorn Borg vs. Jimmy Connors (1981)
Troubled by a shoulder injury heading into Wimbledon in 1981, Bjorn Borg's defense of his championship (which he had won five times in a row previously) was far from assured. Still, he advanced to the semifinals without dropping a single set, but that was where it became difficult for the Swede. He dropped the first two sets to Jimmy Connors, 0-6, 4-6 before finally getting his head in the match and rallying to take the next two, 6-3, 6-0. Winning the final set, Borg claimed his 41st straight singles victory at the All England Club.
The United States completed a 5-0 rout of Switzerland in the Davis Cup on Sunday, with 19-year-old Ryan Harrison and John Isner winning closing singles matches.
