Jamie Squire / Getty Images Recognized by the USGA as one of the first 100 golf clubs established in the United States, the Olympic Club has hosted the U.S. Open in 1955, 1966, 1987 and 1998. The tricky pin positions and fast greens in 1998 led to many complaints from golfers, and as a result the putting green on the 18th hole was flattened around 2000. U.S. Open golfers will get a chance to see if they approve of the changes, as the Olympic Club will host again in 2012. |
