Arnold Palmer trailed by seven strokes heading into the final round of the 1960 U.S. Open, but from his very first shot on the last day he showed he was far from giving up. On the first hole at Cherry Hills Country Club, Palmer drove his tee shot to the green, then two-putted for a birdie. He went on to birdie six of the first seven holes and finish the round with a final-round 65, claiming a two-stroke victory over amateur Jack Nicklaus.
