Joining elite company in 1980, Jack Nicklaus became just the fourth golfer in history to win four U.S. Open titles. He did so in spectacular fashion, setting a tournament record with an eight-under 272 on the Lower Course of the Baltusrol Golf Club. The victory snapped a two-year non-winning streak, the longest of his career to that point. Nicklaus credited his triumph with a rededication to golf, saying "I worked harder this year than at any time since I was a kid."
