A 7-5, 3-6, 1-6 loss to Dinara Safina in the third round of the 2008 Qatar Telecom German Open will go down as the final match of Justine Henin's career. On May 14, 2008, still ranked No. 1, she announced that she would retire immediately from professional tennis.
