Goydos, who entered the day with a one-stroke lead over Kenny Perry, was in sole possession of or tied for first place the entire round until the playoff. His tee shot on the first hole of the playoff, the famed Island Green, fell into the water and gave Sergio Garcia the opening he needed. Goydos finished in second place.
