Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum will seek a second opinion on his knee, which he injured in January, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.
The Lakers, who are overseeing his recovery, don't expect Bynum to return to the court for these playoffs.
According to the report, there are some concerns that Bynum's recovery period could extend into the summer and beyond.
Lakers officials confirmed to the Times Bynum's decision to seek a second opinion.
Bynum, who has one year left on his contract, suffered a bone bruise and dislocated kneecap during a game on Jan. 13. He has yet to participate in a full practice, and according to the Times, has trouble putting his full weight on his leg.
