UCLA point guard Darren Collison will return to the Bruins for his senior season.
Collison had been projected as a probable first-round pick in the NBA draft, but chose not to follow teammates Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook and Luc Richard Mbah-a-Moute, who all declared themselves eligible for the draft earlier this month.
“I want to give myself the best possible chance to compete at the highest level,” Collison said Saturday. “I have unfinished business here at UCLA, both in terms of my physical development and the completion of my education.”
Collison was a third-team AP All-America selection this season and has gone to three straight Final Fours with the Bruins.
Love, Westbrook and Mbah-a-Moute have not hired agents, and all can still back out of their decision to turn pro.
