Sixers, Miller at odds on contract

The 76ers supposedly want to bring back point guard Andre Miller, but the team apparently is thinking it might not happen. Word is that the Philly front office is looking at what it could do if it can’t re-sign Miller. The 33-year-old is seeking three or four years and more than $10.3 million per season. The Sixers want to give him fewer years. So both sides are looking into sign-and-trade possibilities. (Philadelphia Daily News)

Cavs bigwigs in L.A. to woo free agents

Cavaliers GM Danny Ferry and coach Mike Brown went to L.A. for a supposedly secret negotiating session with an unknown free agent. Rumor has it that it’s Anderson Varejao, who has an agent in the City of Angels and the team would like to bring back. Varejao’s agent also apparently likes to do in-person negotiating sessions, so it’s likely this is who they went to see. (Cleveland Plain Dealer)

Portland after Lee, Odom, Miller

Portland is apparently still smarting from losing Hedo Turkoglu to Toronto on Friday after he had given them a verbal agreement. The team is apparently now considering throwing $10 million annually (or more) at Lamar Odom. The team is also supposedly considering trying to snag free-agent point guard Andre Miller and is still preparing an offer to David Lee. (New York Daily News)
