Quiz answers:

1. Dr. James Naismith, 55-60.

2. North Carolina State, 1974. The Wolfpack beat UCLA in the semis, which also happens to be Memphis' semifinal opponent.

7. Larry Brown. The nomadic one played at North Carolina, led UCLA to the 1980 Final Four and coached Kansas to the national championship in 1988. He also had an assistant both at Kansas and with the Philadelphia 76ers named John Calipari. Final trivia note of interest for this year's tourney: Brown's first coaching job was at Davidson College, but in what would become somewhat of a trend, he remained there just one month and never actually coached a game.

8. Kansas: While on the Boston Celtics, Stacom was a teammate of former Jayhawk All-American Jo Jo White.
UCLA: While with the Celtics, Stacom was a teammate of former Bruin Sidney Wicks, the Most Outstanding Player of the 1970 NCAA tourney.
North Carolina: While with the Celtics, Stacom was a teammate of former Tar Heel All-American Charlie Scott.
Memphis: While with the Indiana Pacers in 1978-79, Stacom was a teammate of former Tiger Johnny Davis.
Stacom to Naismith: Stacom played with Scott, who played for Dean Smith, who played for Phog Allen, who played for Naismith. Four degrees.

9. Future North Carolina legend Michael Jordan was hoopin' it up at Laney High School while John Calipari was playing point guard at UNC-Wilmington.
