Ali Nejad bio

Ali Nejad serves as color analyst for NBC's National Heads Up Poker Championship, voice of NBC's Poker After Dark, and most recently on-set MC for NBC’s new poker reality game show, “Face the Ace.”

Nejad’s television career began in the San Francisco bay area while still a high school student, when he hosted and reported for two television shows on the local NBC affiliate.  Hoping to continue working in local television, he stayed close to home for college, enrolling at nearby Cal-Berkeley in 1996.  At the same time, he also started down another career path: poker.

In 1999, Nejad left Berkeley to pursue playing poker full-time and before long, he had made his mark on local card rooms and the internet. But despite his financial success in the poker world, Nejad still had the broadcasting itch.  In 2002 he hosted a pilot for MTV that though not picked up, marked his return to television, and move to Hollywood. As a host, producer, and writer he has enjoyed stints on AOL, Fox Sports, and ESPN, but currently calls NBC home.

Between his busy NBC schedule, Ali is a recurring panelist on Fox News Channel's "Red Eye," and even writer of an advice column for Fox News' imag.
