  • LAA Left Fielder #7
Adell homered for the second consecutive contest against Kansas City, taking ace Cole Ragans deep for a 419-foot no-doubter to left field in the second inning. It was his seventh round-tripper of the season and third time he’s gone deep in his last four games. The 25-year-old former top prospect appears to be finally putting it all together at the highest level as vastly improved plate discipline has helped him unlock his immense raw potential. He should be rostered in all fantasy formats at this point.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #30
Skenes allowed six hits while issuing two walks and throwing 54-of-84 pitches for strikes. Of those 84 offerings, 17 of them were clocked above 100 mph. The top pitching prospect in baseball held the Cubs scoreless for the first three innings, but he allowed a solo homer in the fourth to Nico Hoerner, and two more runs were charged to the 21-year-old in the fifth after he left without recording an out in that inning. A bit of a disappointing result, but anyone who watched Skenes pitch Saturday saw the makings of a frontline starter. He’ll face the Cubs again in Chicago on Thursday.
  • DET Left Fielder #30
Carpenter put the exclamation point on a seven-run second inning with a 350-foot (106.5 mph EV) two-run blast that chased Astros’ starter Cristian Javier. He also added a 384-foot (102.6 mph EV) solo shot off of Hunter Brown in the fourth inning that extended the Tigers’ lead to 8-2. It’s the third multi-homer game of Carpenter’s young career. The 26-year-old slugger finished the evening 2-for-5 is now hitting .275/.333/.523 with five homers and 18 RBI on the season.
  • ATL Starting Pitcher #54
For the second time in three starts, Fried has not allowed a hit. Unfortunately, his pitch count has prevented him from being able to complete the no-no in both, and he was done Saturday after throwing 109 pitches. The Mets wouldn’t pick up a hit until a solo homer off Raisel Iglesias by J.D. Martinez in the ninth. Still, the left-hander was once again awfully impressive, and he struck out five against three walks without really being challenged throughout the outing. Fried will take a 3.57 ERA into his next scheduled start, which is penciled in for Friday against San Diego.
  • TOR First Baseman #27
Vladdy Jr. did it all Saturday in the come-from-behind win. The first baseman has swung the bat much more effectively as of late, and his OPS has risen to .751 after hovering around .700 for much of the season. The 25-year-old has his first steal of the season, and it’ll probably be a while before we see the second one.
  • PIT Third Baseman #13
So much for it being a non-issue. Clearly, the Pirates don’t want to take any chances here after Hayes missed a couple contests earlier this week with a lingering back issue. The 27-year-old will likely wind up missing at least a couple weeks to ensure that it doesn’t become a recurring issue.
  • TB Relief Pitcher #29
Fairbanks makes his return to Tampa Bay’s closer role following a three-week absence due to a nerve-related condition in his right hand. The 30-year-old stopper struggled in eight appearances to open the year, but looked sharp earlier this week in a pair of minor league rehab appearances for Triple-A Durham. He should take over the closing duties for the Rays with relief ace Jason Adam continuing to vulture the occasional save chance.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #30
Skenes will take the ball on Saturday afternoon against the Cubs at PNC Park in the most anticipated pitching debut since Stephen Strasburg back in 2010. The flame-throwing 21-year-old first-overall selection from the 2023 MLB Draft has checked every box this season for Triple-A Indianapolis during his meteoric ascent, posting a microscopic 0.99 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 45/8 K/BB ratio across 27 1/3 innings (seven starts). He projects as an immediate impact fantasy contributor, thanks to his elite strikeout upside, despite some looming workload limitations.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher #38
Williams opened the season on the injured list recovering from a pair of stress fractures in his back and isn’t expected to return to Milwaukee’s closer role until around midseason. The 29-year-old All-Star stopper should kick off his throwing program in a few weeks, if not sooner, and be ready to progress to bullpen sessions at some point in June before starting a minor league rehab assignment.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #22
All indications are that Woo will make his next start on Wednesday against the Royals after making a precautionary exit from Friday’s return outing against the Athletics after experiencing forearm tightness during an extended break between the fourth and fifth innings. His fastball velocity dipped significantly in the fifth inning following the layoff, which led to a visit from Seattle’s training staff and his removal from the contest. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern at this juncture, but it’s certainly a situation fantasy managers should monitor closely. There should be some clarity on his status at some point in the coming days when he throws his usual between-starts bullpen session. Stay tuned.
