APOr maybe not. But this isn’t a crisis for the league. Let’s keep everyone put.
Wade too laid back?
Some people will never let it go. We get that everyone is professional sports in under the microscope, and when things, even when they don’t matter, go bad, scabs are picked.
But stop worrying about Cowboys coach Wade Phillips. He is a major reason why Dallas is heading into the playoffs with the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Still, there are skeptics that say Phillips has a reputation for being too easygoing and it will hurt the Cowboys. The reason? Because the Cowboys were lifeless against Washington in the final regular-season game. OK, the Cowboys were lousy, but they had nothing to play for. They didn’t care the Redskins are their greatest rival.
The best way to stick it to Washington is to win the Super Bowl, and the Cowboys couldn’t do that if they suffered a bunch of injuries trying to win a meaningless game against the Redskins.
So lay off Wade. He turned the Cowboys into a winner and the team has responded well to him. Whatever his style is, it’s working in Big D.
Parcells time in Miami
While we hunker down for the postseason, leave it to Bill Parcells to be part of the non-playoff stories that intrigue us.
Less than two weeks into his tenure as the chief of the downtrodden Miami Dolphins, the big question is, can Parcells turn the Dolphins into a relevant team again?
Of course. It may not be an instant transition because the Dolphins have a nasty dose of being old on defense and too young on offense. There is work to do, but the landscape is set.

But he will hire the management and player personnel that he believes will be the right fit.
Couple the Parcells Factor with the Miami Factor, and the Dolphins have a chance to be good again soon. Really, the Dolphins should always be good.
NFL players love Miami. There is no state income tax in Florida and the team has a great facility. This should be a perennial winner.
With Parcells in town, the Dolphins should be winners again soon.
