UFC and Hatton?
Undefeated Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton has been using the UFC gym at Zuffa headquarters for his daily workouts in preparation for his massive showdown with WBC welterweight boxing champion Floyd Mayweather next week.

The UFC president stopped by to see the press converge on Hatton during media day on Wednesday.

White, a former boxer and boxing trainer, chatted it up with Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer. Maybe they’re working on a deal to match a boxer versus an MMA fighter?

Just kidding.

It’s a mismatch either way. If you have an MMA fighter box a boxer or have a boxer fight MMA style, it’s just not possible.

But it was interesting to see White with Britain’s immensely popular Hatton. UFC has been trying to crack Britain the past year and is making progress. Letting Hatton use the UFC gym is good for public relations.

It’s also interesting to see the walls of the UFC gym filled with famous boxing photos.

Bad boy list
The California State Athletic Commission released a list of fighters who were penalized this year and it doesn’t look good for MMA fighters.

Of the 51 total infractions found through testing by CSAC before and after fights, 41 of those found during testing were MMA fighters from March 31 to November 16.

There were 17 violations of steroid use with MMA fighters representing 90 percent of those in violation.

Two MMA fighters Adam Smith and Jason Winther were allegedly found with both steroid and drug abuse simultaneously.

Boxers had a major problem with the use of marijuana, but steroid use was only two. MMA fighters also had problems using marijuana too.
