Titans’ Henry may appeal 4-game suspension

Coach Fisher says ‘I don’t think he thought he was doing anything wrong’

Tennessee rookie running back Chris Henry faces a four-game suspension from the NFL, and he is considering an appeal of his positive test for a substance added to the league’s banned list within the past year.

Henry was not available Monday with the Titans given the day off. But coach Jeff Fisher said the only information he has is that Henry is considering an appeal.

“Anytime there is a mistake, an error in judgment, we discuss it and try to learn a lesson,” Fisher said.

“I think he certainly regrets what he did, even though I don’t think he thought he was doing anything wrong. That’s about all I can say. It’s a league matter. All I can say is, my understanding is that he is considering an appeal.”

Henry played Sunday in the Titans’ 20-7 win over Carolina as a backup to LenDale White. He has played three straight games with veteran Chris Brown out because of a high ankle sprain. But Brown has a chance to return Sunday when the Titans (6-2) host Jacksonville (5-3).

The NFL’s drug and banned substances programs are handled confidentially. Joshua Luchs, Henry’s agent, declined to comment on Henry’s plans when contacted Monday.
