Deal would send Came Home to Japan
A deal is pending for Came Home, Lane's End confirmed Tuesday. In a deal brokered by California-based agent Rollin Baugh, the 8-year-old Came Home, a Gone West horse, appears headed to Japan and the Japan Bloodstock Breeders' Association Stallion Station in Hokkaido.

Came Home currently is in quarantine pending test results that will finalize the deal.

The three-time Grade 1 winner is the sire of two crops to race, and his best runners to date have been Grade 2-placed C P West, who headlines Thursday's Wild Again Stakes at Aqueduct, and Passion, third in the Adirondack. He also is the sire of 2007 stakes winners Beautiful Venue, Cajun Conquest, and Alina.

A millionaire, Came Home is out of the Grade 3 winner Nice Assay, making him a half-brother to the Grade 2-winning filly A. P. Assay.

Stormello to stand at Vinery
Vinery has added Grade 1 winner Stormello to its roster for 2008. A 3-year-old Stormy Atlantic colt, Stormello won the 2006 Hollywood Futurity and placed twice in Grade 2 races this season. He will stand at Vinery's Kentucky farm for a $15,000 fee.

Vinery has purchased what it termed "a significant interest" in the colt from William Currin and Alvin Eisman, who bred and raced Stormello in partnership. Currin also trained Stormello.

Stormello last ran in the Grade 2 Woody Stephens Stakes at Belmont in June, finishing third. He leaves the track with a career record of 3 wins, 1 second, and 3 third-place finishes from 11 lifetime starts. He won or placed in six graded stakes and earned $700,100.

Stormello is the first foal out of the Carson City mare Wilshewed.
