PHILADELPHIA - Bill Clement is proving you can indeed go home again.

A prominent member of the Philadelphia Flyers’ Stanley Cup championship clubs in 1974 and 1975, Clement on Wednesday was named a member of the team’s television broadcast team.

“I am thrilled to be back at my roots and to have the opportunity to work with Jim Jackson, Steve Coates and the entire broadcast team,” said Clement, who is a contributor to msnbc.com.  “I have always had great admiration for the Flyers organization, and to get another chance to be on the inside looking out is something I am very excited about.”

Selected in the second round of the 1970 draft, Clement spent the first four seasons of his playing career with the Flyers, recording 53 goals and 52 assists in 229 games.  The forward went on to play with the Washington Capitals and Flames in both Atlanta and Calgary, concluding his tenure in the NHL in 1981-82 with 148 tallies and 356 points in 719 contests.

Following his retirement, Clement turned to broadcasting.  He served as the Flyers’ color analyst from 1989-92 before spending 15 years in a similar position with ESPN.

For the previous two seasons, Clement was the studio host for national telecasts on both NBC and Versus.
