WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The wife of Hockey Hall of Famer Emile “The Cat” Francis on Tuesday night was found unharmed at a hotel, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported Wednesday.

Emma Francis, who had been missing since dropping off her husband at the Palm Beach International Airport on Sunday, reportedly checked into the Best Western Palm Beach Lakes Inn Hotel due to heavy rain rather than make the 15-minute drive back to the couple’s home.

Without a cell phone or her prescription medication in her possession, Emma Francis appeared to be “very disoriented and could not clearly answer” questions when located Tuesday night, according to a police report.  The 77-year-old was discovered after a hotel employee recognized her from the media coverage and called the police.

Emile Francis, a former goaltender, coach and general manager of the New York Rangers, became worried when his flight landed in New Jersey and he had not heard from his wife.  He returned to Florida on Monday, and one of the couple’s two sons flew in from North Carolina to help take part in the search.

The Francises have been married for 55 years.
