AFC West
San Diego Chargers
They have the most talented roster in the NFL, but Norv Turner as coach? He is not a solid head coach when it comes to making in-game adjustments, and he will hurt their chances. LaDainian Tomlinson will win another MVP trophy and could rush for 2,000 yards. I was surprised that general manager A.J. Smith didn't upgrade the receiving corps in the offseason. The Chargers' offensive line is loaded and they have one of the best defensive lines, too. If they struggle, it could cost them home field advantage throughout the postseason. They will easily win the AFC West with a record of 12-4.

Denver Broncos
The addition of running back Travis Henry could pay huge dividends for the Broncos offense. Jay Cutler is an inexperienced quarterback who will continue to make mistakes as he is given more responsibility in Mike Shanahan's playbook. The defense has great shutdown corners in Champ Bailey and Dre' Bly, but the defense broke down in the second half of 2006 because the offense couldn't stay on the field. Denver looks similar this season, which is why they will finish 9-7.

Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are under a lot of pressure to make the playoffs, and that will depend on the durability of running back Larry Johnson. He ended his holdout just a few weeks ago and must carry the load. He ran the ball 416 times for 1,789 yards and 19 touchdowns and should put up similar stats this season. The addition of veteran linebacker Donnie Edwards should help the maturation process of Derrick Johnson. Damon Huard will start at quarterback, but will get benched for Brodie Croyle if he struggles early. A tough schedule will keep the Chiefs out of the playoffs with an 8-8 record.

Oakland Raiders
The Lane Kiffin era begins in the Raider Nation and the entire roster has bought into his approach. Last season, Oakland had the third-ranked defense, led by corner Nnamdi Asomugha and his eight interceptions. The offensive line will try to get back on track with a new zone blocking technique that coach Tom Cable had success with in Atlanta. Jerry Porter is playing for his reputation and future contract and better stay on the good side of Kiffin. The Raiders must win early if they want to ride some momentum into 2008. For Oakland fans, 7-9 will be a great season.
