MMA fans can watch regular Joes try and make the New Era Fighting team today and Friday at the Quiet Cannon Golf Course in Montebello, Calif. between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m.
More than 200 people off the street and current MMA fighters are expected to participate in the two-day event that auditions fighters to see if they can make the cut and possibly end up the final tournament against Kimo Leopoldo that takes place next year.

Royce Gracie suspension stands
MMA superstar Royce Gracie did not file papers to appeal the suspension by the California State Athletic Commission. Therefore the suspension until May 30, 2008 and $2,500 fine cannot be revoked stated the CSAC on Tuesday July 17, 2007.
Gracie was tested and found with steroid use after his fight on June 2, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. A sample taken revealed traces of Nandrolone Metabolite.
Human Weapon
The History Channel will be showing a series called “The Human Weapon” that traces throughout history the use of fighting arts worldwide. The series begins Friday at 10 p.m.
Hosts Jason Chambers and Bill Duff will take viewers to different parts of the world, including Thailand, France, Greece, Japan, Philippines and Israel.
The first show focuses on Muy Thai called the “Science of eight limbs” and looks into its origin.
