AP81. Anquan Boldin, WR, Arizona Cardinals
Contenders: Terrell Owens, WR, Dallas Cowboys; Torry Holt, WR, St. Louis Rams.
We mention Owens because we all know how he reacts if he doesn't get his props.
82. Jason Witten, TE, Dallas Cowboys
Worth mentioning: Antwaan Randle El, WR, Washington Redskins; Josh Reed, WR, Buffalo Bills.
83. Alge Crumpler, TE, Atlanta Falcons
Contender: Lee Evans, WR, Buffalo Bills.
Crumpler is pretty good as it is, but imagine if the Falcons had a quarterback instead of a tailback under center.
84. Chris Chambers, WR, Miami Dolphins
Worth mentioning: Ben Watson, TE, New England Patriots.
85. Antonio Gates, TE, San Diego Chargers
Worth mentioning: Chad Johnson, WR, Cincinnati Bengals.
Johnson wanted to be called Ocho Cinco, so he made a Velcro patch with his new name and placed it over his old name before a game last year ... and was fined $5,000 by the NFL.
86. Hines Ward, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers
Contender: Todd Heap, TE, Baltimore Ravens.
87. Sidney Crosby, C, Pittsburgh Penguins
Worth mentioning: Muhsin Muhammad, WR, Chicago Bears; Reggie Wayne, WR, Indianapolis Colts.
Crosby chose his number because his birthday is August 7, 1987 -- or 8-7-87.
88. Marvin Harrison, WR, Indianapolis Colts
89. Steve Smith, WR, Carolina Panthers
Worth mentioning: Morgan Shepherd, NASCAR driver.
We bring up Shepherd because 89 is the most recent car number he has driven -- and presumably the last, as he is 65 years old. In a career that started in 1970 and spanned 513 races, the last of which was in 2006, he drove cars with 43 different numbers in Cup level races, according to NASCAR's database. That's more than any active driver. The all-time record is harder to pin down because, decades ago, one team changed its number after each race.
90. Julius Peppers, DE, Carolina Panthers
Worth mentioning: Mario Williams, DE, Houston Texans.
Nobody in the NFL has Peppers' unique blend of size, speed and athleticism -- certainly no one wearing No. 90.
91. Tommie Harris, DT, Chicago Bears
Worth mentioning: Sergei Fedorov, C, Columbus Blue Jackets.
Federov wears 91 because that was the year he played his first season with the Red Wings after defecting from Russia. There's irony in the fact his number is the opposite of former teammate Steve Yzerman's -- the two are opposites in many ways, not the least of which is their standing with Wings fans.
92. Shaun Rogers, DT, Detroit Lions
Worth mentioning: Michael Strahan, DE, New York Giants; Ted Washington, DT, Cleveland Browns.
93. Dwight Freeney, DE, Indianapolis Colts
Contenders: Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson football; Richard Seymour, DE, New England Patriots; Kevin Williams, DT, Minnesota Vikings.
Worth mentioning: Ron Artest, G/F, Sacramento Kings.
94. DeMarcus Ware, LB, Dallas Cowboys
Contenders: John Henderson, DT, Jacksonville Jaguars; Aaron Schobel, DE, Buffalo Bills; Pat Williams, DT, Minnesota Vikings.
At a number chock-full of Pro Bowlers, Ware stands out for his ferocious play.
95. Shaun Phillips, LB, San Diego Chargers
Contender: Tully Banta-Cain, LB, San Francisco 49ers.
Worth mentioning: Jason Ferguson, DT, Dallas Cowboys.
96. Adalius Thomas, DE, New England Patriots
Worth mentioning: Alex Brown, DE, Chicago Bears; Marcus Spears, DE, Dallas Cowboys.
97. Patrick Kerney, DE, Seattle Seahawks
Contenders: Reggie Hayward, DE, Jacksonville Jaguars; Mathias Kiwanuka, DE, New York Giants; Simeon Rice, DE, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
A tough number to decide. Bottom line: You don't want any of these guys chasing you.
98. John Henderson, DT, Jacksonville Jaguars
Worth mentioning: Casey Hampton, DT, Pittsburgh Steelers; Robert Mathis, DE, Indianapolis Colts.
99. Jason Taylor, DE, Miami Dolphins
Worth mentioning: So Taguchi, OF, St. Louis Cardinals.
Taguchi wore 6 in Japan and wanted that. But it had been retired for Stan Musial. He turned it upside down, but 9 had been retired for Enos Slaughter. Taguchi wore 1 in the Olympics, but Ozzie Smith made that number unusable. Next, Taguchi asked for 66, but Rick Ankiel was still around and he had it. Finally, Taguchi turned that number on its head, and he became No. 99.
Robins: It’s the Year of the Dragon on the Lunar calendar, and this Chinese influence could extend to it also being the year of the Pekingese on the green carpet at the 136th Westminster Dog Show on Tuesday.
NEW YORK (AP) - As the glow fades from the Giants' Super Bowl triumph, some New York sports fans are tuning in to basketball and hockey, with the Rangers in first place and the Knicks' overnight sensation, Jeremy Lin, sparking "Lin-sanity.''
Robins: This year, six new breeds will be making their debut on the green carpet for the Westminster Dog Show, which begins Monday.
