The World Extreme Cagefighting organization will hold its second event in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Saturday.
Rancho Cucamonga’s John “The Natural” Alessio (19-10) faces Carlos Condit (19-4) of New Mexico for the vacant WEC welterweight title, and Urijah “The California Kid” Faber (17-1) defends his WEC featherweight title against Dominic Cruz (9-0) of San Diego. A third title bout features WEC featherweight champ Eddie Wineland of Indiana defending against Chicago’s Chase Beebe (9-1).
“Fans are in for a great night of action,” said Scott Adams, WEC co-founder. “This card is the best lineup in the history of the organization.”

UFC 69 in Houston
Canada’s Georges St-Pierre, the UFC middleweight champion (170 pounds) defends his title on April 7, 2007, against New York’s Matt Serra last year’s winner of The Ultimate Fighter television reality show. UFC 69 takes place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
Also on the card will be undefeated Diego Sanchez of New Mexico meeting Josh Koscheck of Fresno, California in another 170-pound fight. Looks like the winner may be in position to fight the winner of St. Pierre and Serra. For tickets call (866) 446-8849. The fight card will also be available on pay-per-view television.
Brian Johnson, who led Utah to an upset of Alabama in the 2009 Sugar Bowl, is ready for his first season as the Utes' offensive coordinator. At 25, the ex-QB will be the youngest with that job at the FBS level.
