Robert Jackson did a fine job recruiting for the Scarlet Knights, hauling in major prospects like Wayne Thomas, Keith Newell, Mason Robinson, Al-Ghaffaar Lane and Joe Lefeged. For his efforts, Jackson was named one of the top 10 recruiters in the Big East by Rivals.com. … Rutgers has already offered Rivals100 to watch offensive tackle Art Forst. The Scarlet Knights are in good position for the 6-foot-8, 288-pounder along with Notre Dame and Boston College. Forst said he plans to make a decision by this summer. … Rutgers is in very good position for Rivals250 running back Rashad White. The 5-foot-10, 157-pounder took in the junior day at Rutgers last week and claims the Scarlet Knights and Notre Dame are his leaders.

South Florida
Greg Frey made a major impact at South Florida, landing two critical recruits in Alton Voss and Calvin Sutton. The assistant has now moved on to take a position at West Virginia. … South Florida has offered running back Santuan McGee out of Tallahassee (Fla.) Florida. … South Florida is one of a handful of schools Blountstown, Fla., athlete Ryan Baker is interested in along with Florida State, LSU and Auburn. It appears the Seminoles are his early favorite. … The Bulls are one of the early favorites for Rivals250 to watch linebacker Nigel Carr. Carr also lists Clemson, Illinois, Georgia Tech, Florida, Florida State and South Carolina as schools he is considering.

Syracuse
Syracuse’s Jim Salgado was perhaps the busiest recruiter in the Big East. He signed recruits including Doug Hogue, David Legree, Chad Battles, Kevyn Scott, Nick Provo, Chaz Cervino and Ryan Gillum. … The Orange have already offered Rivals100 to watch wide receiver Marcus Sales. The 6-foot-1, 180-pounder said he has no favorites at this time. … Syracuse has offered and is one of the favorites for Rivals250 to watch running back Latavius Murray. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder also has Pittsburgh, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida and Michigan in his early ranking.

West Virginia
West Virginia’s Bill Stewart did a fine job landing four-star talents Terence Kerns and Bradley Starks to go along with athlete Brandon Hogan. A top-10 recruiter in the Big East according to Rivals.com, Stewart is also recruiting unsigned 2007 standout Pat Lazear. … The Mountaineers hold a commitment from Westminster (Md.) Winters Mill defensive tackle Jeff Braun. The 6-foot-4, 300-pounder is committed to West Virginia, but claims he’ll make a final decision in December. … Originally a West Virginia commit, offensive lineman Josh Jenkins has decided to look around and take visits. The 6-foot-3, 282-pounder maintains the Mountaineers are still in the mix for his services.
