Getty ImagesShawn Kemp apparently has blown his latest chance to make an NBA comeback, as he failed to show up for a scheduled Monday workout with the Chicago Bulls, according to a report in the Chicago Tribune.
The newspaper reported that Kemp, who is 36 and has not played since 2003, was unlikely to receive another invitation from the Bulls.
The six-time All-Star, who played for the Sonics, Cavaliers and Trail Blazers during a 14-year career, reportedly had some travel problems late Sunday night. Nonetheless, he did arrive in Chicago early Monday morning. But instead of going to his workout, Kemp instead took a trip to his hometown of Elkhart, Ind., to visit a sick relative, the Tribune reported.
Kemp also missed a scheduled workout with the Mavericks this year.
Kemp has battled weight problems, plus cocaine and marijuana arrests, but has been trying to drum up NBA interest after claiming to have lost 60 pounds.
Bulls coach Scott Skiles has known Kemp since they were growing up in Indiana, according to the Tribune.
