Pistons need to stop talking, start playing

Cleveland head coach Mike Brown must also continue to motivate his bench players to execute the game plan, stay productive on offense and slow down the starters from Detroit.

Chauncey Billups usually plays with a chip on his shoulder for Detroit but has disappeared during this recent three-game losing streak. Billups has scored only 48 combined points in the last three games and continues to make bad decisions on the perimeter. Saunders must help Billups get his confidence back and motivate him to attack the rim and attempt more free throws.

Also, Rasheed Wallace must be told to stop taking 20-foot jump shots and drive towards the basket to create more space for his teammates. Ben Wallace has never been this big of a liability on offense and is coming off a disastrous performance in Game Five, where he went 0-7 from the foul line. That is unacceptable and Ben Wallace has to get at least 10 points in the lane and hit a few free throws to get his confidence back. It is obvious to all concerned Pistons fans that every starter must show up and play a great game in Cleveland on Friday night if they want to continue on their journey to the NBA Finals.

I'm not ready to throw dirt on Detroit just yet, but it had better find a way to play inspired and cut down on their mental mistakes.

If they lose to Cleveland, there is no point in keeping this team together for future championship runs and Saunders will instantly be on the hot seat with the Detroit media.

The time is now for the best team in the East to prove that they can win on the road and force a Game Seven back in Detroit.
