Utterly stupid. Don't NBA officials have better things to do? The NBA ought to ban fans who don't know how to act in arenas.
-- Paul Ferrarone, Atlanta, Ga.
The punishment doesn't fit the crime. Davis broke the rules but a fine would have been sufficient. If the league is afraid of fan interaction then they must protect the players and their families. Put players families in a box, not court side. Teach security personnel what "security" means. These venues must do their jobs too.

Do yourself a favor...go to one of Davis' sons basketball games when his wife is in attendance. She has confronted fans, coaches and referees during the games and is notorious for this behavior in and around Chicago. She is rude, crude and obnoxious.
-- Anne, Chicago
I think all those lazy columnist are pretty quick to use this incident to bash Ron Artest. The rules are the rules and they are the same for anyone. Patrick Ewing got suspended in the playoffs against Miami for stepping on the court durring a brawl altough he was not part of the fight. Still the rule of the law is the same for anyone and everyone. Besides the matter of what happened and who started seems to be very contested so who to believe. Davis has been a class act in the NBA since he's been in the league and that made it easy to have double standard on this issue. It still think it's the right thing to do if he thinks his wife was in the danger to into the stands but it's also the NBA's right to suspend him for going into the stand. Sometimes being the man in the house means exactly that. So Davis should be a man about taking his suspension the same way Artest was.

In my opinion he should have not gone in to the stands but the fact that he was calm during the confrontation ( besides jumping over score table ) he did handled everything in the right manner. As soon as he knew his wife was all right he left with no harm done. The penalty is to stiff. I could see a small fine and maybe a one game suspension but that would be the about as far as i could go with that.
-- Eric Mahr, Sacramento, Calif.
No, Davis should not have gone into the stands, but I can't say that under the circumstances, I would not have done the same thing. As for the $1 million dollar law suit, this is just another case of a lazy jerk trying to set himself up for the rest of his life due to the litigious nature of our society. He should not get a dime, and it is ludicrous that he is even trying!
-- Bret Reynolds, Boise, Idaho
I certainly don't have enough information on what happened, especially not hearing the verbal exchange. My point is why should we blindly be against Axelrod. The video replay didn't prove anything except that Axelrod probably used expletives as Davis walked away. He might have a big mouth, but I'm not going to assume Kendra Davis is innocent. Let the witnesses come forward. I wager that she instigated this; SHE was probably protecting her man or his team while Axelrod was beligerent.

Kobe Bryant hit a baseline jump shot with 4.2 seconds left and the Los Angeles Lakers wrapped up a six-game road trip by holding on to beat the Raptors 94-92 on Sunday, their eighth victory in nine meetings with Toronto
