Ohio State receiver Santonio Holmes told reporters after Monday's Fiesta Bowl that he was going to leave the Buckeyes for the NFL draft, ESPN reported.
Holmes caught five passes for 124 yards, including an 85-yard touchdown catch, in his team's 34-20 victory over Notre Dame.
The announcement from Holmes, a redshirt junior, did not seem to surprise Ohio State coach Jim Tressel, according to ESPN.
"He's a fourth-year guy, well along toward his degree," Tressel told ESPN. "I think he's proven that it's time to move along.
"I tell all our players that if you're a first-round pick, you should go. And Santonio is going to be a first-round draft pick."
